چکیده
Civil infrastructure supported by expansive clays is severely affected extensive volumetric deformations. The reliability prediction of such facilities quite challenging because the complex interactions between several contributing factors, as a scarcity data, lack analytical equations, correlations quantitative and qualitative information, data integration. main contribution this research development modeling approach based on Bayesian belief network. results highlight that facility age most critical parameter (23% variance), followed type (1.37% for all investigated types infrastructure, namely road embankments, buried pipelines, residential housing. Likewise, sensitivity analysis extreme scenario indicate new method capable predicting assessments were found to be in agreement with expected field behavior. proposed model useful decision making related civil management clays.

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
Reliability Assessment of Critical Infrastructure Using Bayesian Networks
The authors present a Bayesian network (BN)-based approach for modeling and reliability assessment of infrastructure systems. The BN is a powerful framework that is able to account for uncertainties in component and system parameters, and perform updating of system assessments with new information. The exponential increase in memory storage required for the BN model as the size of the system in...
متن کاملeqr 439: Bayesian belief network computation for reliability
Over the last decade, Bayesian Networks (BNs) have become a popular tool for modelling many kinds of statistical problems. We have also seen a growing interest for using BNs in the reliability analysis community. This article discusses the properties of the modelling framework that are of highest importance for reliability practitioners.
متن کاملModelling the mechanical behaviour of expansive clays
A simple formalism is presented to model the behaviour of expansive clays. Two levels of structure are considered. The behaviour of the macrostructure follows the model developed for unsaturated materials by Alonso et al. [Géotechnique 40 (3) (1990) 405–430]. The behaviour of the microstructure is adapted from the work of Gens and Alonso [Can. Geotech. J. 29 (1992) 1013–1032] in order to includ...
